My 4yo daughter loves this workbook. She will be entering her final year of preschool in August and has always loved to draw and doodle. This book holds her attention and stimulates her brain. She enjoys the maps and puzzles as well as the color exercises. I also ordered the Kindergarten version for my 5yo and she enjoys the letters and writing the words for pictures like "olive" and "ox". (We are on "O" this week.) And for the price, you can't beat the deal!
This workbook is great. I've looked at several preschool workbooks and this one is great at establishing pre-writing skills before diving into drawing letters and numbers. It has a nice slow pace and isn't overly complicated like several other books I looked at. The color graphics on each page are bright and engaging. It has just the right amount of material per page in my opinion. Pages can be torn out and put in page protectors so they can be used multiple times. I hope the pictures I added give you a sense of how great this book really is so you can stop reading reviews and buy it already!
As a homeschool mom, I try not to push my kids into anything they aren't ready for. I build skills slowly. My 3 year old has been asking for "school" because big sister has workbooks, etc... Coloring books weren't doing it for my 3yr old anymore! So I purchased something at walmart on a whim (MEAD PreK). Total failure! Way too advanced! But after looking at amazon I found this workbook, I got immediately excited because I remembered using this brand for my eldest but in K! This is Perfection!!! It's starts out with TRACING LINES. I find it ridulous that other PreK books expect kids to trace letters when they haven't learned to draw a straight line or complete a circle! This starts slow, tracing lines, then tracing shapes, reviews colors, coloring by number, and it doesn't leave out letters and numbers! Colorful and engaging! Perfect for my 3 year old! We are doing a page or two a day and when we are done she says "thank you for my schoolwork mommy!" How great is that?!?!
We purchased this book along with the kindergarten one in hopes of improving my 5 year olds comprehension and writing. I was very impressed when I received the work books. They were much more than I expected. Not to mention, he truly loves doing the worksheets, which says a lot. He usually does not stay interested long enough to finish a couple pages of his "homework" so for him to sit and do 8-10 pages at a time out of this book, is really amazing. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I hate that you have to tear each sheet out to do the work. I would much rather see this book come as a spiral book so we don't have to tear every page out.
I love it! My 3 year old goes to speech therapy and has trouble communicating and speaking. I was hesitant to get her to try writing since she is behind in speech, but she is doing absolutely fantastic with this work book! Starts off with simple follow the squiggly lines to get her interested in writing and forming shapes she will need to make letters. She loves repeating the colors when we are working with them and it is helping her develop speech and writing! Can't wait to get to the more advanced letters and shapes section!
Perfect for my toddlers to practice and reinforce what they are learning in pre-school. I laminated the pages and my sons work on the pages with dry erase markers. This way is they are having trouble with a particular letter, we can reuse the sheet many times over.
I bought this for my 3-year old son as something we could work on together in the evenings to get him a head start on pre-k. This is a great resource for learning ABCs, numbers, and beginning to draw and color. I would recommend that any parents looking at this also buy a small pack of crayons at the same time because a good number of the exercises are coloring or tracing.The exercises are all progressive, building up as you advance through the book. I also really like how they are stand alone exercises confined to a single page, but generally grouped over about 3 pages (for example, find the letter "C" and trace the letter "C" and circle all these things that begin with the letter "C" over the course of a few pages). This makes it very simple for us to work on a single letter in about 10 minutes, which is all his attention span can really firmly hold most nights.Overall, this is a great workbook that I know is making my son feel proud that he is doing school work and familiarizing him with the concepts he will cover in pre-k and kindergarten. Great book!
So far we’ve only used a few of these pages but my 3 year old loves it. Bought for some homeschooling preschool practice. The pages tear out easily. It starts off really easy—just letting them practice tracing squiggly lines. I didn’t know how much he needed that kind of practice until I saw how much he struggled. We trace with his finger before using a pencil. He loves the colorful pictures. I am confident he will learn more new skills with this work book. We are planning on doing this with him once or twice a week, so I’m not sure if there are enough pages to make it through the year. I will have to check the math on that. :) Sl far so good!

It covers the basics from learning to trace and hold a pencil/crayon, letters, colors, shapes, and numbers. The pages are bright with large colorful pictures and letters and numbers. It'll work for a simple introduction or review.
