this book lacks so much detail as to how to place and loop the bands that it's a miracle that anything comes out right. THe amount of time it takes to do these multistep projects only to find that 1 band wasn't looped properly and the whole thing is ruined, is truely frustrating and annoying! They just show you a picture of how it should look with bands placed and then a picture of how it should look looped without telling you which order to place bands or loop them. it's a total guessing game based on what you see in the picture. I WISH that there were other books out there that used the real Rainbowloom technique with Susanne Peterson.
My daughters are not loom experts and neither am I, so we rely on good directions and good pictures to help us. We have been able to do the basics of bracelets and necklaces etc. but thought we would try these creatures. I am very disappointed in this book and would like to try to return it if I can. It is completely impossible to follow. Even the "easy" pictures and directions are inadequate. It turned what was supposed to be a pleasant rainy afternoon activity into a frustrating experience for all. Unless you are a true expert at anything to do with the rainbow loom, I would avoid this book and try to use YouTube videos instead. Very disappointing, and not worth the money.
Bought this for my daughters aged 11 and 6 even for the big one the instructions are unclear and hard to follow. Not even an adult would be able to easily follow the instructions, let alone the target audience of children. All the videos in youtube are easier and free.
I was so excited to get this book because of the cute things displayed. When it came I tried to follow the instructions and found them very lacking. The other books I have purchased show more pictures with arrows directing how and when to loop. This one does not. I'm sorry I purchased it to only frustrate my kids and myself!
The patterns are cute but not as easy to make as indicated. The use of "holding" bands is not clearly described what is needed and often need to be doubled although not indicated in the instructions.In some cases, the photos do not match the steps so the editing can be faulted for that.
I think that you need to have a lot of looming experience before you use this book. Pictures are not great, it would be nice if they were clearer. That being said, I am going to continue to use it because there are a lot of cute ideas. I have made the alien, the ladybug and mouse.
Not bad, it doesn't show the complete process though for each project. That would have made it a much better product.
My daughter who is skilled on rainbow loom was excited to try the animal charms presented in the book. The directions were not clear and neither were the pictures. The authors used terminology about how to do certain things but did not define them. Very frustrating for child and parent alike.
