I loved Out of the Shadows, and immediately started Beloved Wife once I finished it. Beloved Wife was even more of a page turner, right from the start! Now I am off to start reading With Child...
Well written, suspense, great example of women who love and understand each other. Great story with twists and turns. An emotional series. Can't wait until book three is available
This is certainly a page-turner! I enjoy witnessing the characters develop alongside with the writing and complexity of the story. Sometimes I was a little bored with the heteronormativity of LIra & Amy's relationship, but like last time, the ending reversed that! I am very thankful! It's great to mix up the roles. I am looking forward to the future.
This is a great series, I can't wait to read book 4. This is one of my favorite types of lesbian books because it's about being with a woman but not only about that.

Oh my goodness! If I write too much I'll spoil it for those of you who've not read the book. So, let me let you know that the story is quick, details are crisp, and Amy & Lira's newly wed life is full of them still learning each other.The crime scenes are visceral and well described. I had an inkling of who the perp could be but was wrong.So read the book. I couldn't put it down until I finished it! I'm on to the next one in the series because Amy Sadler's a good instinctive detective. Does anyone think this is similar to the Rizzoli & Isles police procedural drama (or the books by Tess Gerritsen); except the leads are lesbians?
I knew the second book could never live up to the first and that's fine. This book was still very good. Characters feel like old friends and they are so darn likable. How rare to enjoy both characters equally. The author has created the perfect couple. Another really good mystery and well thought out. A surprise in the book that I knew could not be real but it was used perfectly. I recommend this series because everything about these characters could be anyone. Normal. How refreshing. Very well done.
